Dave Skakal - Boys Head Coach & JV Coach

Coach Skakal is in his seventh year as the head coach for the Mosley boys soccer team. Dave has been coaching in boys soccer programs since 1991 in California and Florida, including Bay United Soccer Club. He was a founding member of Bay Select Soccer Club (later Bay United) in 1994, served seven years on the board of directors, and holds a Florida State “D” coaching license. Dave is a former president of the Mosley Soccer Booster Club and a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. He teaches in the Mosley Social Studies Department, holding a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Master of Science in Business Administration. He and his wife Merrilyn have three children and three grandchildren.

Marek Betkowski - Boys Varsity Coach

Coach Marek Betkowski begins his eleventh year with Mosley as the varsity coach. A native of Poznan, Poland, he brings playing as well as 20 years of coaching experience in Poland and the USA. Coach Marek holds a Master of Physical Education Degree with a soccer specialty, United States Soccer Federation “B” and “C” licenses and Florida State “D” license. In 2003, he was named Girl’s Soccer Coach of the Year by Florida Youth Soccer Association. Since 1986 he has coached both boys and girls select teams U10-U19 in Poland and since 1996 for Bay United Soccer Club in Panama City. As a coach of Bay United, he and his teams have won 98 tournament championships and 56 runner-up trophies. In 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008 he coached President’s Cup champion teams from Panama City (BUSC Sharks U15 and U16 girls teams). In 2004, he coached the first ever Region III Director’s Cup champion team and went to the National Director’s Cup final four. Since 1998, Coach Marek has been coaching the Mosley High School boy’s varsity team and has won ten consecutive county championships. He is married to Joanna Chmielowiec, a physical therapist at United Therapy Services. They have a seven-year old son named Adam.

Dean Keltner - Assistant JV Coach

Coach Keltner returns to the Mosley Boys program for his sixth year as a volunteer with the JV team.   Coach Keltner has many years of coaching experience in local recreational and high school soccer programs. He adds a valuable combination of skill and motivation to the program
